A lovely first Bontempi acoustic drum kit set with four rhythmic instruments produced by Bontempi, world renowned for producing excellent instruments. The drum kit contains: a stool, two free drumsticks, bass drum, medium size drum, cymbal and small drum. The bass drum comes with a pedal. There is an electronic teaching guide too, which is very easy to follow - and a must for any young budding drummer.
The electronic tutoring guide contains a picture of the snare drum, the cymbal, the tom and the bass drum on the front, which is viewed in exactly the same position as you see the actual drum kit in front of you - this is really good because it makes it easy for young children to follow. When you select something, such as a song, or a beat from the electronic tutor, the drum/cymbal you are supposed to hit lights up and you just follow the pattern. You can start off copying it very slowly as there are 4 learning levels - the fastest really gets you going and would be a challenge for any youngster! There are 14 songs on the menu:
Mary had a Little Lamb, When the Saints go Marching In, London Bridge, Oh! Susanna, Carioca, Brother John, Silent Night, Twinkle Little Star, Jingle Bells, Alouette, Old McDonald had a Farm, La Cucaracha, Ode to Joy and of course Happy Birthday. There are also 7 basic rhythms to choose from: rock, swing, march, country, samba, dance and waltz.
We think this drum set is ideal for preschoolers. It's also a great introduction to learning about rhythms and improving coordination and without doubt - reaction time!
The childrens drum kits come with a stool and need to be put together by an adult. There's an instruction sheet in the box showing you how to do this.
