This music book & CD was especially written for parents and carers with no musical ability who want to spend more musical time with their children, but it is also an ideal resourse for teachers too! There are so many lovely children's songs based around the weather to sing in this book and it is laid out so that each page introduces a song and gives parents and children ideas of what to do whilst singing them, such as clapping hands, changing the words of the song, playing instruments, how and when to do movement activities and sometimes with a scarf, etc. then the facing page includes an activity to do such as colouring in the notes and the activities are really easy to do! Amazingly, the activities actually introduce the notes and in such a way that children (and parents) learn about the technicalities of music without even realizing it. There are some really fun activies!

These lesson plans are also an ideal resource for nurseries and playgroups because no musical experience is necessary and many of the activities can be done in groups.

Please note that if you are looking for completely new and different material, this book and CD will also be an ideal resource, as they were produced in the USA. If the accents are not what you are looking for, use the CD as a guide to the tunes.

Suggested instruments for this book: Rainmaker, glockenspiel, drum, triangle and sea sound drum. Give your baby the best! Beautiful instruments that are in tune and have a good tone quality are the first instruments that babies should hear.
