A Note about Timing
Did you know that gently bouncing children on your lap will give them a sense of timing? Simply moving young children (or bouncing them on your lap) is what really makes all the difference. If you tap your feet, they can see it, but they cannot feel it. So simple songs that you bounce your children to is in itself a great way to teach timing. Rocking and swaying to the beat of a song or even moving arms back and forth to a rhyme such as Hickory Dickory Dock will give the foundation required to read well, even to be an athlete and of course a musician!
